This product is exactly what I'd been looking for!

Lighting candles on the dinner table each evening with the easy-lite lighter is wonderful. No more struggling with child-proof, difficult-to-use lighters for me.

Great lighter

My 94 year old Italian mother loves to cook and her stove burners don't always light and she has arthritis and can't operate those child proof lighters. She loves this one. Eventually we'll get a new stove but for now this will do the job.

Lives up to its

True to. It's name, this lighter is the easiest to use. You only need to gently press the button for the lighter to ignite. No hard clicking, or contorting your fingers, just a light touch on the electronic button. The easiest lighter I've ever found.

Great Value!

Durability and Ease of Use make these lighters a great buy! Just refill the propane and replace the AA batteries once in a while and these will last almost forever! They are so easy to use- especially for seniors and/or those with arthritis. (Other cheaper lighters we tried posed a real challenge for the elderly- These work much more easily and thus are safer!)

Second one works fine

First one i purchased arrived smashed. Broken trigger button, frame and battery cover. Internal parts were loose in the package.BBQguys sent a replacement free of charge, and this one works fine.I especially like that the safety can be turned off and lighter can be used by just pushing a button. It's big too, with a long reach; good for lighting recessed pilot lights. Also like that it has a fuel window.Am a bit concerned with it's durability, as the first lighter was so thoroughly smashed. Will make sure not to run it over with a car or use it as a pry bar. 😋

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.

Anything under $49 ships at one low price. If your order increases, your shipping stays the same!

30-Day Returns

Return all new, unused, and unassembled items in their original packaging, and we'll give you a full refund minus the cost of the original AND return shipping.

No Restocking Fee

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.

What is a barbeque lighter? ›

Charcoal lighter fluid is a flammable fluid used to accelerate the ignition of charcoal in a barbecue grill. It can either be petroleum based (e.g., mineral spirits) or alcohol based (usually methanol or ethanol). It can be used both with lump charcoal and briquettes.

Why does my lighter spark but not light? ›

Usually, the problem with a lighter emitting a hissing sound, but not lighting, is a problem of flame adjustment. If the adjustment is set too high, then the force of the fuel escaping can be too great for the striker to ignite it. Essentially, the speeding fuel actually “blows out” the flame.

Why isn't my BBQ lighter working? ›

It could be a worn-out spark module, a loose wire or other connection, a dead battery, corrosion or dirt on the igniter tip, or cracked porcelain on the igniter element. If the grill doesn't light using the match, check for low or no gas flow. Your problem could be as simple as a low gas tank.

What can I use besides lighter fluid? ›

Newspaper, Alcohol, Cardboard Crate, Chimney Starter

One of those is simply using a fuel source such as paper! You can start with small shreds of paper or newspaper and build a small fire such as wilderness campers might use twigs and sticks.

Can kerosene be used as lighter fluid? ›

Kerosene. Another popular multiuse lighter fluid is kerosene, also known paraffin, paraffin oil or coal oil. It has several chemical compositions used for fueling lamps, lighting outdoor charcoal grills, burning wood, and is also used as a carrier in insecticide sprays and fuel for jet engines.

What is the fluid to refill lighter? ›

Fill the lighter with butane.

Hold the lighter upside down. Place the nozzle of the butane container into the hole at the bottom of the lighter. Then, gently push down on the butane container.

Do you shake butane before filling? ›

While this is fine practice with a deodorant spray or air freshener it is NOT OK to shake your can of butane right before you refill your butane lighter! Shaking the can increases the amount of propellant in the mixture that goes into the lighter tank.

How do you know when a butane lighter is full? ›

With the stem of the can fit into the valve of the lighter, pump a few 3-second bursts to spray the butane into the lighter. You can tell that the lighter is full because the butane will start to leak from the stem and won't go into the lighter. Depending on how empty the lighter is, it may take 2-3 bursts to fill it.

Why can't I refill my butane lighter? ›

Troubleshooting: If you are having problems with your lighter, make sure that: You are holding the lighter upside down while refilling. If you did not hold the lighter upside down, there will be air inside the butane tank. You will need to let the air out and try refilling again.

Can you refill a lighter with another lighter? ›

Your typical Bic-style or disposable lighter is not refillable. Once the fuel runs out of a disposable lighter, there is no way to replenish the gas tank. When a lighter has a valve at the bottom, you can insert the stem from a can of butane to add fuel to the tank.

How do you bleed a butane lighter? ›

To bleed, hold the lighter in a vertical, upright position. Depress the filler valve with a small screwdriver, until all fuel is expelled and the hissing stops. Shake lighter, then repeat to ensure it is completely bled. Do not put lighter close to ear when checking glass flow rate, to avoid accidental burn.

Should I close the lid on my BBQ when lighting? ›

Just remember to keep your grill lid off while your coals are being lit because the more air flow the better. If you close the lid during this lighting process, you will kill the fire and have to start over.

How long should you let lighter fluid soak into charcoal? ›

The most you should use is 1/4 cup of fluid per pound of charcoal. Allow the lighter fluid to soak in for 30 seconds before lighting. And NEVER douse a burning fire with lighter fluid.

How do you get charcoal to stay lit? ›

Charcoal is more likely to stay lit if it's stacked vertically rather than arranged flat on the bottom of the grill or smoker. Heat, as you may know, rises. Therefore, stacking your charcoal allows heat from the bottom coals to rise up and into the top coals.

How do you fix a lighter that doesn't spark? ›

Things You Should Know
  1. Ensure the lighter isn't shattered first. Look for rust, debris, and dirt, check the fuel tank, and see if there's a spark to diagnose the problem.
  2. Refuel the lighter with butane. If the flame burns out, remove the metal around the flame hole.
  3. Replace the flint on your lighter.

What are those long lighters called? ›

Candle Lighters

Also called utility lighters, this type of lighter has a very long neck. The long neck makes it easier to reach candle wicks, especially without burning your fingers on the flame.

How do you modify a lighter? ›

To modify your lighter, take off the lighter's metal hood and toggle the small plastic tab back and forth a few times. Then replace the hood, and get ready to test the flame. You need to be extra careful, since you don't want to burn yourself or anything around you.

Why is my lighter not working after refilling? ›

After 3 or 4 refills, the tank is overwhelmed with an air pocket, or bubble. This air prevents fuel from occupying the tank. Flip the lighter upside down and use a small screwdriver or a thin and narrow tool to compress the fuel valve and release the air. A trace amount of fuel may also escape.

What lighters can you refill? ›

Refilling a Zippo Lighter. Gather your materials. Zippo lighters are generally made to be reusable. In order to refill a zippo lighter, you'll need zippo lighter fluid, a small flathead or pin, and a zippo lighter.
