Questions & Answers

43 Customer Questions

okay, can someone PLEASE give a detailed instruction on HOW to take the bowl out of the bracket? I'm beginning to think that I'm crazy. I read one of the reviews about the hint but I still don't understand.

Answer by

Jul 02, 2018

The bowl will slide into the space between the upper and lower wires on the bracket. To remove, slide the bowl out away from the bracket. It will take some effort as it is designed to be a stable, secure fit.

What's diameter of the 1.25c & 2.5c bowls?

Answer by

Oct 08, 2018

The 1.25 cup bowl measures 3 x 3 x 1.5 inches and the 2.5 cup bowl measures 6 x 6 x 2 inches. The 4 cup bowl measures 6 x 6 x 2.75 inches and the 8 cup bowl measures 8 x 8 x 3.125 inches.

Will it fit on any brand crate?

Are the brackets and wingnuts metal? Is there any plastic parts on this product?

Answer by

Jul 04, 2018

There are no plastic parts on this bowl.

Tough - what I wanted

This bowl is tough to take out of the metal bracket, but I don't mind that. I have a 16 week old puppy that would always upset his other water bowl. This bowl is impossible to turn over, so water is no longer being spilled everywhere. The only thing is that it makes it hard to replace the water or clean it.

Finally she stopped...

I've needed more of these water bowls forever. I bought 1 four years ago and have never regretted it. I just bought 2 more in different sizes and solved 2 problems. The biggest one was one of my Chihuahuas would dump her water and I would have to keep replacing the bedding. Problem solved she stopped with this. Happy days! I love these bowls, easy to install in a crate and easy to take out to clean.

Totally works

Our Labrador puppy loves to flip water bowls but she leaves this one alone. Had no problem with the stickers, maybe they changed to a different adhesive but they came right off. The bracket is metal and easy to position and attach on the crate, it's stiff to remove but that's a good feature with a water puppy. I bought the 4 cup size because I don't want her to have too much water at a time in her crate, but she can have a bit and be comfortable.

Too tight to remove

I like the concept of having water off the crate floor for my small dogs, but the bowl is too hard to remove from the metal holder - the water spills all over and I like to change and clean bowl daily. Wasted $

Keep looking - this one's not a good option

First problem - the stickers don't come off. I hate when I buy something and have to spend hours trying to remove the stickers only to be left with a sticky residue that nothing will get rid of.Second problem (and this is a big one) - It's difficult to "snap" into place or remove it. So if you have water in it, you're going to spill it. It's a mess.

Tight fitting

Bought these for my new puppy. Size of bowls are perfect. I do find it difficult to remove and replace the bowls in the holder. Ive had others that simply set inside the holder which is easier for my arthritic hands.

Keep Looking

Disappointed in these bowls and the packaging. There are stickers firmly attached in the bottom of the bowl that must be removed prior to use. It wasn’t an easy task. I purchased 4 of them. The plastic piece in one of them that sits between the two metal braces that hold the bowl to the kennel broke before I ever even got it set up. Once attached they feel flimsy at the weld and I’m not sure how long they will last before the the bowl holder breaks off the brace. It’s a good idea but poorly executed. I don’t recommend these.

Just Perfect

Been waiting years for something like this. I love them. Easy to remove the bowls for cleaning without having to remove the entire thing. So far my dogs have not been able to pry them loose. They attach sturdily with two wing nuts with no slipping or coming loose.

Great pup cup

I bought a pair of the smaller sized bowls to attach to my lab-pup’s crate for eating and drinking. We have two older labs who are able to eat together without bothering each other, but by using this brace and bowl, the pup can eat in her crate safely and rest afterwards, not bothering or “investigating” her older siblings’ food bowls. The bowl is sturdy, frame attaches easily, and the unit withstands the vigorous eating and drinking! I find the bowl size perfect for her 1.5-cup meal, but larger dogs would probably use the larger bowls. Even the smaller size, though, bowl is large enough to hold plenty of water without providing her with a “pool” to splash around in. The bowl frame can attach pretty much anywhere you want on the cage-style crate. Placement of bowl into brace DOES require two firm hands, so installed the brace for easier access inside the door at the one end, but pup enters from the wider side. (Our crate has two doors). Bowl is out of the way but within easy access to the door (and is more easily removed than inserted). The bowls are easy to clean. The price, solid construction, ease of install and use make this purchase absolutely worthwhile.

Just what I needed for a kennel

This was exactly what I was looking for, it's easy to attach and stays in place. It stays in place a little too well. Removing the bowl to clean it almost always results in a water spill because it fits into the bracket so tight. Overall, it's well made, it has metal pieces to attach it, not plastic, so I know this will last.

Is a stainless steel bowl better for dogs? ›

Just about everyone agrees that stainless steel is the best overall option for pet food bowls. It's very durable (won't crack or break if dropped), relatively light and easy to carry, and easy to clean.

What is the safest material for dog bowls? ›

Stainless steel bowls tend to be at the top of the totem pole when it comes to safe dog bowls. There's a reason that stainless steel is a go-to for top chefs everywhere. Stainless steel is non-porous, which means it won't hold onto bad bacteria, plus it is super easy to clean which keeps it sanitary for your pup.

Are metal bowls good for dogs? ›

The easiest type of bowl to keep clean – and, not incidently, also the safest bowl for your dog to eat and drink from – is stainless steel. This material will not leach potentially dangerous chemicals into your dog's food and water, like some plastics, aluminum, poorly glazed pottery, or old ceramic dishes.

How can you tell if a dog bowl is stainless steel? ›

If you choose stainless steel, look for a bowl with non-skid rubber on the bottom, such as Durapet pet food dishes and bowls. Other choices include glass, ceramic or stoneware pet food bowls.

Should dogs food bowls be elevated? ›

Raised Feeders and Bloat

There's no evidence to suggest that elevated feeders reduce the risk of bloat. In fact, studies done on this topic suggest that raised feeders may actually increase the risk of bloat, especially with large- and giant-breed dogs.

Do dogs prefer plastic or metal bowls? ›

We recommend most people use an aluminum or stainless-steel dog bowl over a plastic one when choosing one that your pet will use every day. It's more durable, unlikely to get chewed, and doesn't leak chemicals into the food. It also tends to look more attractive.
